Showmanship Judge 1: Kelli Retallick
Kelli Retallick grew up showing Angus heifers and market steers alongside her sisters in Southwestern Wisconsin. Growing up on a seedstock operation, Retallick developed a strong appreciation for the beef industry. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. During her time at UW, she was actively involved in the UW Saddle and Sirloin Club and was chairman of the Badger Kick-off Classic in 2012. She continues to be impressed on how the event grows each and every year. After her time in Madison, Retallick obtained a master’s degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics from Kansas State University.
She currently serves as the Genetic Service Director for Angus Genetics. In her role, she assists in coordinating genetic education and outreach programs tailored to Angus breeders and commercial cattle producers. In addition, she oversees AGI, genotyping lab and membership relationships. She plays a critical role in maintaining database integrity and ensuring best practices are enlisted for Angus’s weekly genetic evaluation.
Showmanship Judge 2: Kelsi Retallick
Kelsi grew up on her family farm, 2K Cattle Enterprises in Glen Haven WI. Growing up she showed both steers and heifers on the local, state and national level with her sisters Keela and Kelli. Kelsi attended college at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she majored in Animal Science. Upon graduation, Kelsi continued her education at the University of Iowa where she received her Masters Degree in Science education. After that she taught science for three years in central Iowa. Most recently, Kelsi has returned to the family farm where she raises and markets Angus cattle. Kelsi thoroughly enjoys working with youth and mentoring them with their livestock projects. She has been extremely grateful to judge many shows and showmanship contests across the tri – state area.
